She Loves Me is looking for a weekend shopkeeper to oversee our Eckington flagship store and provide world-class service to our customers. If you are a natural-born problem solver and thrive in an ever-changing environment then this is the position for you. Loving flowers doesn’t hurt, either!

You will serve as an IRL representative of She Loves Me so we expect you to mirror our core values of kindness and appreciation. Among other traits, a successful shopkeeper will lead customers to make a purchase by being approachable, knowledgeable and patient. You can work both independently and on a larger team, taking direction well, and interpreting direction into ownership of your work. You are level-headed and maintain composure during busy times.

Compensation:

- $18+ based on experience

Time commitment:
- Saturdays and/or Sundays, at the She Loves Me Eckington Shop

Expectations and duties
- Address customer service inquiries, concerns, and special requests in-person, over the phone and via email
- Serve as the sole associate at our Eckington location with potential overlap with our events team
- Maintain organization and tidiness of the shop
- Manage incoming supply deliveries
- Possess a basic understanding of flower and plant care
- Follow a set list of tasks designed to be completed throughout your shift
- Anticipate shop and studio needs to keep operations running smoothly
- Maintain a working knowledge of our core services and products so that you can best advise on delivery orders and special event inquiries

Qualifications:

- At least 1 year of retail and/or customer service experience
- A proactive mentality that anticipates issues and alleviates stressors for others
- The ability to guide customers to make a purchase in a genuine and helpful manner
- Knowledge of Shopify backend & point of sale a plus
- Confidence in maintaining organization across multiple channels of communication and information
- No prior floral experience necessary
- She Loves Me is a small, growing business so flexibility, patience and kindness is a must

Commitment: Full-time

Compensation: $55,000/year + paid vacation + health benefits + 401(k)

Do you dream in spreadsheets and want to put your organizational skills to work in a meaningful, highly impactful way? She Loves Me is looking for a full-time production manager to ensure that the multiple arms of our business run smoothly and efficiently.

You will provide on-the-ground assistance to our event staff in the form of air-tight logistics and stem management, awe-inspiring organization skills, thoughtful and efficient ways of tackling large projects, and a proactive mindset that thinks 20 steps ahead and includes multiple back-up plans.

The Production Manager will work closely with our Lead Florist and General Manager.

Proposed schedule:

  • Monday (full day, WFH)
  • Tuesday (full day, in studio)
  • Wednesday (half day, WFH)
  • Thursday (full day, in studio)
  • Friday (full day, in studio)
  • Two Saturdays a month, on-site at events

Responsibilities:

Fresh stem and Hardgood Management - 50%

  • Build, maintain, and manage a weekly rundown of stems
  • Oversee the intake, organization, and preparation of fresh flowers and hard good inventory 
  • Print and distribute recipes, gameplans, Runs of Show, etc.
  • Place fresh product and hardgood orders and navigate substitutions/availability as needed
  • Report damaged/missing product to suppliers and track credit requests

Team Management, in-studio and events - 30%

  • Determine staffing needs for special events and divide workloads accordingly
  • Schedule support staff in Homebase and brief them ahead of special events
  • Set the pace on prep and design days, ensuring everyone is on track and hitting production goals
  • Create daily schedules for event florist and support staff in the “This Week” document
  • Build “Design Runs of Shows” for our design team that provide a snapshot of that event’s hardgoods and individual staff duties
  • Provide a weekly snapshot of what's ahead during our weekly team meeting
  • Be on-site two Saturdays per month serving as a point of contact for the design team

Administrative Operations - 20%

  • Attend periodic client meetings ahead of the event to ensure it runs smoothly and you understand the full scope
  • Work with our florist to plan mechanics and execution of special events
  • Maintain a tidy and well-organized studio with the help of our Retail Manager
  • Stage, organize, pack and give a final check on completed designs before being loaded for transport
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of direct production experience
  • Knowledge of flower varieties a plus
  • Familiarity with task-keeping software including Asana and Homebase
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with ever-shifting priorities

  • Lift moderately heavy loads up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to push/pull heavy loads

She Loves Me is looking for an experienced floral artist to join our team as our Lead Florist and dreamweaver. 

In addition to creating designs for retail and special events alike, the Lead Florist will work directly with our clients via consultations and visual proposals to spin their floral vision into reality.

They will work both independently as well as closely with a team of the most kind-hearted co-workers and freelance designers, ensuring that everything that leaves the door meets She Loves Me’s quality standards. They should feel comfortable working with minimal oversight, freely making judgment calls in the likely event of substitutions and shifting plans. After all … nature gonna nature.

The ideal candidate is an artist who feels most comfortable focusing on floral design and keeping an eye on emerging trends while someone else happily handles logistics and expenses. A great attitude is a must, we’re a small but mighty team and look out for one another. 

Responsibilities

Design 75%

• Design a wide range of flower elements efficiently and with little oversight, including retail wraps, event florals, wearables, and large-scale designs alike

• Build recipes for special events and weddings using florist-specific software

• Requires an understanding of what flowers work well together and what’s commonly in-season

• Possess an in-depth knowledge of floral mechanics for small scale designs as well as large installations

• Design, conceive, and build recipes for seasonal retail bouquet as well as special holidays (Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s DayThanksgiving, winter Holidays)

• Collaborate with the Production Manager to navigate flower substitutions

• Help with special projects such as in-store installations and installs for corporate clients 

• Perform quality checks and ensure consistency across our team of freelancers

Client + Vendor Communications 15%

• Serve as the “face” of She Loves Me’s creative department, maintaining and navigating relationships with planers and corporate clients

* Attend walk-throughs at venues with fellow vendors and planners

• Lead consultation calls with potential clients, understanding how to chisel a vision from their inspiration

• Create stunning visual proposals for prospective wedding clients using a template

• Foster relationships with our wholesale reps and local growers

Administrative Operations 10%

• Maintain a clean, orderly environment that aids in the health of our flowers.

• Train new florists and get them up to speed on our processes and style

 As part of the interview process you will be asked to perform a design test in our studio
